It’s a thrilling game of ‘beat the clock,’ when ruby liquid tangoes with your terracotta threads. Thankfully, with common items from your trusty home, you’ve got a fighting chance of yanking out that pesky stain.

Did you think crimson tide was a permanent decorating statement? HA! Nonsense my friends, no stain ‘s too fierce or audacious to beat. Sure, these pesky pomegranate polka dots can give you a run for your money, but trust me, tackling them in the nick of time is the secret sauce.

Merciless Merlot on your prized Persian rug, you ask? Fear not! There’s an art and a science to banishing them. The essentials? With some grit, a dash of patience and a bit of trial and error, you should be out of the woods in no time, leaving your carpet as spotless as a newborn’s conscience. A word to the wise – test your chosen magic potion in some hidden corner first, you wouldn’t want to swap a stain for a bleached patch. Once you’ve found the winning formula, protect it with an anti-stain shield to keep such mishaps at bay.

Now for one of my favorite tricks – pick-me-up from the pantry!

Some dish soap and water combo to the rescue. Commercial stain strippers are great too.

Embrace the challenge fearless warriors. Here are my tried and trusted steps.

1). First, suck up as much as grapejuice gone astray as you can.

2). Blot with a pure, undefiled cloth or paper towel or let a vacuum hose’s suction power do the dirty job.

3). Next, conjure up a potion comprising one-part white vinegar and two parts water.

4). Dab it gently onto the wine knave, let the liquid rendezvous for a spell then rinse with cool water.

Still seeing your uninvited guest? No worries. Mix a tbsp of bleach with a cup of water and dab it onto the crime scene.

Natural warriors, this is for you. Whip up a dough with baking soda and water, let it recline for an hour then vacuum. White vinegar and water also work wonders to exorcise your wine demons. A uniquely innovative way is to rain down some salt over the stained area, allow it to soak up the chaos for 15 minutes then vacuum.
